The Westport law firm of Randel & Molloy LLC acted on behalf of the buyer, The Glenmere II, LLC. The limited liability company’s address is listed as the same as the law firm at 265 Post Road West.
“Our firm was brought into the deal because of our existing relationship with the buyer’s real estate agent who recommended us to her client,” said Kelly A. Molloy, one of the law firm’s principals.
“Our buyer has had an interest in this home for well over a year, and they were finally able to negotiate with Bob Weinstein to a number they could both agree on.”
Robert Weinstein purchased the 3.28-acre, almost 13,000-square foot historic mansion for $16 million in 2000 when the producer married his wife Annie. The couple divorced last year.
The Mediterranean-style home went on the market in 2013 for $32 million and subsequent reductions dropped it to $17.75 million last year. During that time, Weinstein completed major renovations on the property.
Harvey Weinstein sold his two Westport waterfront properties on Beachside Avenue in February for $16 million. A demolition permit for the structures, including the 8,896-square feet main house, is pending before the Historic District Commission.
