Baseball Champs

Westport’s Yankees won the Little League Majors division championship in extra innings today, defeating the Red Sox 14-8 in a back and forth battle that saw them come from behind twice before taking the lead for good in a big top of the seventh. Solid pitching from winning right-hander Adam Feuer and closer Cayne Mandell was aided by timely hitting from Zack Bloom and Jack Lieder and all topped by a grand slam from Matty Fair helped secure their second victory over the top-seeded Red Sox in this double elimination playoffs.
