Artistic Director Researches Art

The 2016 edition of New York’a Armory Show art fair opens to the public Thursday, but today’s preview at Piers 92 and 94 was crawling with collectors, curators, and critics. Among the VIP visitors was Mark Lamos, artistic director of the Westport Country Playhouse, doing research for productions in the Playhouse’s 2016 season. He will direct “Art” and “Red,” two Tony Award-winning plays in conversation about art: making it, owning it, the anguish of creating it, and the ache of believing in it. They run May 3-29.
