Dylan Curran (No. 59) , a 14-year-old special needs youngster at Bedford Middle School, is all smiles with his pals after the eighth grade P.A.L. Wrecker football team on Saturday made him a team captain for the day. He got to hold the first down markers, do the coin toss, and shake hands with opposing team members. Dylan’s father, Jim, who was not there for the surprise gesture, said it was suggested by a mom on the Westport team “who made it happen.” The grateful father said Dylan’s mom, Stacie, was there, and “it brought tears to her eyes,” adding, “It made a huge impact” on Dylan.
