Abel Bradley House Site May Contain Prehistoric Indian Remains

Preservationists trying to save the Abel Bradley house on the Westport-Fairfield border say there is an “excellent chance” of prehistoric Indian remains on the site. They say parts of a collection at the Fairfield Historical Society came from a site about a mile downstream from the Bradley House and “make it likely” that people who frequented the site also visited the Bradley House site. This link, they say, may be cause for an archeological site investigation under Westport zoning regulations. (CLICK TO ENLARGE ) Contributed photo

  1. These people have gone way too far! This has gotten out of hand. The sooner that they tear down that house, the happier I will be. Dickey and her cohorts will try anything to keep a big house from blocking their view. This latest tactic has pushed me across the line to the developer’s side of this issue. TEAR IT DOWN NOW!

  2. They haven’t done anything yet about it.. I say take the offer from the owners to Move it! Again it’s the house people would go to see not the land.. And by the way! Just about everyone in this area can find remnints of the indians if they dig enough. Duh! this was their land at one point. I think Dickey and her clan are grasping at straws at this point!

  3. There is an “excellent chance” that significant archealogical artifacts might be found under the Dickey home. Let’s move her house and start an excavation!
