A Win for Lady Softball Wreckers in Season Opener

The Staples Lady Wreckers took to the field for their season opener in New Fairfield today and won 16-0 behind a shared no hitter tossed by pitchers Gillian Birk and Katie Burke. Assistant Coach Dave McCartney said, “This was one of the games we had to win to be in a position to head back to the state tournament.” All of the starters; three seniors, three sophomores and three freshmen, made it on base safely in what turned out to be a lopsided victory.
