Almost four years after WestportNow first spotlighted the planned teardown of the circa 1800 Abel Bradley House at 131 Sturges Highway on the Westport-Fairfield line, the renovated structure is on the market for $3,695,000. Workers today were putting final touches on the 7,168-square foot colonial on a 2.7-acre plot in advance of a broker’s open house Thursday. A protracted battle between preservationists and developers that drew national attention ended with the saving of the house and incorporating it in the new home. The developers received a Westport Historic District Commission Preservation Award for their efforts to preserve the structure.
