The Staples High School football team had a special guest at Wednesday’s practice—Anne Morris, executive director of Susan G. Komen for the Cure Connecticut. She accepted a check for $4,134 representing funds raised at the Oct. 23 Get Your Pink On campaign at the team’s game against Harding. She thanked the group for their fund-raising effort for breast cancer research and asked each of them to go home after practice and ask an important woman in their life over the age of 40 if she has had a mammogram in the last 12 months. “If her answer is no, what do you say?” A resounding “Get one done NOW” from the group was their response.
