The big screen scoreboard at Yankee Stadium tonight showed the Staples High School Orphenians singing the national anthem behind home plate. An adjacent big screen identified them as being from Staples High School (without identifying the school’s location—but Westport was mentioned by the public address announcer.)  Anxiously awaited for months by the Staples singers, the appearance was delayed one hour and 21 minutes by rain before the game against the Philadelphia Phillies began.
