Paul J. Feeney, 80

Paul J. Feeney, 80, husband of the late Mary Louise Feeney passed away at his home in Westport on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009.

Paul was born Jan. 23, 1928, in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. son of the late Joseph and Florence (Quigley) Feeney and has been a resident of Westport for the past 32 years and was known to his neighbors as the “Mayor of Burnham Hill.”

A 1949 graduate of the University of Scranton, he was employed by GMAC for 14 years and IBM for 26 years.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Frances Stevenson and her husband David of Charleston, S.C., one son, Paul J. Feeney Jr. and his wife Valerie of Stonington, Conn., five grandchildren, Katharine and Elaine Stevenson, Ryan, Conor and Aidan Feeney and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Mary Louise Feeney, he was predeceased by one son, Michael J.P. Feeney, and two sisters, Florence Morris and Joan Thompson.

Friends are invited to attend the funeral, Thursday, Jan. 22, at 9:15 a.m. from the Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road East, and 10 a.m. in Assumption Church, 98 Riverside Ave. for a Mass of Christian Burial.

Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery, Greens Farms.

The family will receive friends in the funeral home Wednesday, Jan. 21, from 4 to 7 p.m.
