Marie C. Taylor, a resident of Westport for 51 years, died Oct. 23 at home. She was 93.

Born in Fulton, New York in 1924, she also previously resided in the Syracuse, New York area and in Lynchburg, Virginia.
She was a longtime member of the Westport Woman’s Club and Garden Department, serving on the board and participating in their many community outreach and fundraising endeavors.
She thoroughly enjoyed many trips to New York City, New England points of interest, and many luncheons and guest speakers/performers who brought fun and enrichment.
She was also a recognized volunteer with the American Red Cross, assisting at the Senior Center, and wherever else she was asked to help.
Besides traveling her favorite past time was golfing at Longshore Club Park, where she assured a tee time for her and her friends by forming the Ladies Nine hole Group on Thursday mornings.
She also enjoyed dinner with her friends in the WOW’s Group.
She is survived by her two children, Al (Craig), with daughters Caitlin and Meghan and great grandson Shane; and Linda, with children Diana and David and great-granddaughter Aubrey.
