Open the Gate Pictures will begin shooting its inaugural production, “Glacier Bay,” on the site of the Norwalk’s Lockwood-Mathews Mansion in March, an announcement said.

Founders and co-producers of the film company are Colleen Murphy of Westport and Hollywood veteran James Noble of Norwalk. Both are members of The Theatre Artists Workshop of Westport.

“Glacier Bay” is a 28-minute screenplay that features Noble and veteran actress Dorothy Bryce of Westport. They play a pair of seniors “as familiar as old furniture: a bit wobbly perhaps, certainly frayed around the edges, but stuffed with history,” the announcement said.

Following post-production, including editing, etc., “Glacier Bay” will be submitted to film festivals such as Sundance and marketed for television.

The film company, which is recognized by the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) as a signatory producer, is currently considering two scripts for a future full-length feature, according to its founders.

Literary submissions for consideration, including screenplays or plays, short stories and novels for film adaptation, will be accepted by regular mail only.  A self-addressed, stamped envelope is requested if the author would like the manuscript returned. Open the Gate Pictures is located at 195 East Ave., Norwalk, (203) 854-4664.
