Helene J. Duffy, 95

Helene J. Duffy of Trumbull, formerly of Westport and wife of the late Westport Fire Capt. Edmund T. Duffy Sr., died July 16 while watching a New York Yankee baseball game. She was 95.

Born at home in Westport’s Greens Farms area, she had been a Westport resident for 90 years prior to moving to Saint Joseph Manor five years ago. She was a communicant of St. Luke Church. She was an avid Yankee fan, loved gardening, cleaning, cooking and baking.

Survivors include three sons, Edmund T. Duffy Jr. and his wife Susan of Milford. Charles Duffy and his wife Rose of Westport, and Denis Duffy and his wife Mary of Trumbull; two daughters, Anne Carol Sutton of Hanover, N.H., Donna Duffy of Monroe, six grandchildren, one great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. She was also one of seven brothers and sisters.

Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial Saturday, July 21, at 10 a.m. meeting directly at Saint Luke Church, 84 Long Lots Road,. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery, 79 Greens Farms Road.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 20, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Harding Funeral Home, 210 Post Road East. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105 or go to http://www.stjude.org/donate.
