Westport Police are participating in another drug take back day on Saturday.
Held in conjunction with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, officers will collect the drugs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 180 Bayberry Lane, home of the Westport Weston Health District.
This is the 18th opportunity in nine years to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs, an announcement said.
New this year is the opportunity to dispose of vape pen or other e‐cigarette devices. Vape pens where the batteries can be removed, can be disposed. Vape pens where batteries cannot be removed will not be accepted at the drug take back.
