Conservation Commission Members Check Out Grassy Plains Image
The Westport Conservation Commission today took a field trip to the Reserve at Poplar Plains, the development side of the Partrick Wetlands. The visit was part of the hearing requested to legalize a number of violations to the prior Conservation approval and the stipulated agreement, which allowed for the 13-house clustered project. Grassy Plains LLC, the firm which bought the project from the bank after ARS Partners, the original builder who went bankrupt, built a 150-foot retaining wall (above) and filled in part of the conservation easement with boulders in order to back fill and flatten backyards, all without permission or permit. The hearing is Wednesday at 8 p.m. in Town Hall Room 201. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Contributed photo
