Author Tells of African Library Program Image
Masha Hamilton spoke about her book, “The Camel Bookmobile,” at the Westport Public Library today. The book is based on an actual effort by Westerners to deliver books on camel-back to remote villages in Kenya. Hamilton read two passages and also had a video to illustrate what it was like for the villagers to pick library books. The Camel Bookmobile goes to different villages three times a week and returns to each village in two weeks when the books must be returned. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Phyllis Groner for
