Police Arrest Three for Shoplifting on Main Street

Officers arrested two Bronx, N.Y. women and a Brooklyn, N.Y. man on larceny charges following a shoplifting report on Main Street, police said today.

Camaleetha Davis, 26 and Sophia Grant, 45, both of the Bronx, and Rushane Dwyer, 28 of Brooklyn, were each charged with fourth-degree larceny, possession of a shoplifting device and conspiracy upon their arrest Friday, according to the arrest report.

After additional merchandise taken from another store was found in their car, each was also charged with fifth-degree larceny, and fifth-degree conspiracy to commit larceny, police said.

“An employee reported that three individuals shoplifted from the store and then placed the items into a vehicle parked outside,” Lt. Jillian Cabana said. “The employee provided the license plate of the suspect vehicle and descriptions of the suspects.”

Fireworks Tickets Go on Sale Today

The Westport Police Athletic League (PAL) announced today that Melissa & Doug, LLC will again sponsor the annual fireworks display set for Monday, July 2, with a rain date Tuesday, July 3, at Compo Beach—and that tickets go on sale today.

Tickets cost $35 per car and are available at the Police Department at 50 Jesup Road and the Parks & Recreation Department located in Longshore Club Park at 260 Compo Road South.

It will be PAL’s 62nd fireworks show, and display will be provided the Grucci family, dubbed “The First family of Fireworks.”

According to PAL, tickets are limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. Once tickets are sold out, the announcement said, shuttle passes from Longshore will be available for purchase.
