Loretta Wirth, 91

Loretta Wirth, 91, of St. Petersburg, Florida, a former Westport resident, died April 11. She was 91.

Formerly also of Inverness, Florida, she was wife, mother and a beloved grandmother of seven and great grandmother of five.

She is predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Lewis A. Wirth, and daughter Cindy Kerrigan.

She is survived by her sister Marge Harmeyer of Florida and brother Michael DePalmer and his wife Vicky of Tennessee; son Lewis A Wirth III and wife Pam of Westport; daughters Sandra Beardsley and husband Dave, of St. Petersburg, and Wendy Spencer and husband Kevin of Inverness. A celebration of life to be held at a later date.

Heat Advisory, Air Quality Alerts Issued

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Westport and area from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.

It said to expect heat index values up to 102 due to temperatures in the lower to mid 90s, and dew points around 70.

A Heat Advisory is issued when the combination of heat and humidity is expected to make it feel like it is 95 to 99 degrees for two or more consecutive days, or 100 to 104 degrees for any length of time.

Meanwhile, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection has issued an air quality alert for Fairfield County until 11 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday.
