An application for a permit to demolish the house at Westport’s 7 Forest Drive, off Maple Avenue North, is in process. Built in 1946, the one-story ranch has 2,754-square feet and is situated on a .98-acre property. Because the house was built more than 50 years ago, the application will be reviewed by the Westport Historic District Commission. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for WestportNow.com

Dana Vincent, 41, was arrested on a bond at Norwalk Superior Court Tuesday where she had appeared on another matter, and she was arraigned the same day in lieu of a $7,500 bond, according to Lt. Jillian Cabana.

Cabana said the matter dates back to July 16 when the Sterling Drive resident had his vehicle broken into, his wallet and credit cards stolen.

“The credit cards were later used at eight different locations,” Cabana.

Letter: Heart Lightened by Kindness of a Stranger

To the Editor:

Yesterday I was saddened by the loss of the cement owl that sat at my husband’s grave, and today I must report that my heart has been lightened by the kindness of a stranger (who is now a friend).

I received a call last night, right after I sent my letter to the editor at WestportNow, from a lovely lady who read my note and without hesitation, ordered an owl online to replace Stan’s little friend.

It was a gesture that renewed my faith in people when I thought it was lost, at a time when everyone seems to be completely self absorbed.

We, and I include myself, should never forget that good will ALWAYS outweigh the bad.  I am so lucky to live in a town that has people that still care about their neighbors. Thank you Jena, for renewing that faith.
