Westporter Paul Gordon poses with wife Sheri, a newly elected member of the Board of Finance, following today’s Temple Israel penguin plunge at Compo Beach. A financial professional, Gordon said he has done eight or nine plunges and today stayed in the water well after everyone else exited. He said he was especially pleased to be able to support the National MS Society, Connecticut Chapter and friends Tom Patterson and Lee Caney (also a member of the Board of Finance), who organized the event. He said the event raised $100,000 and that he personally ranks second in fundraising for the plunge with $38,000. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for WestportNow.com
As in years past, Westport in 2015—the 13th year of publication of WestportNow—saw many changes. Jim Lomuscio documented them in his year in review (see WestportNow Dec. 31, 2015).
WestportNow was there every day 24/7, documenting the big things and little things that make Westport special. You saw stories and photos here that you saw nowhere else, thanks to dozens of contributors to Westport’s only locally owned news source.
