Rick Derringer closed out the seventh annual Blues, Views, and BBQ Festival in Westport tonight with” Hang on Sloopy,” among other selections. He was just 17 when his band The McCoys recorded the No.1 hit in the summer of 1965, knocking “Yesterday” by The Beatles out of the top spot. WestportNow.com video

Young guitar great, vocalist and entertainer Rick Derringer closed out the seventh annual Westport Blues, Views, and BBQ Festival tonight. He was just 17 when his band The McCoys recorded the No.1 hit “Hang On Sloopy” in the summer of 1965, knocking “Yesterday” by The Beatles out of the top spot.
