Police Holiday Toy Drive Still On

Despite today’s snow, the Westport Police Department Holiday Toy Drive is still on today and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at The Athletic Shoe Factory, 1560 Post Road East, according to Sgt. Jill Ruggiero, co-chair. Image

But she said because of the storm and hazardous driving conditions, donors might find it easier to drop off items at police headquarters, 50 Jesup Road.

“We are still counting on the donations to make this drive successful,” she said, adding, “We will gladly accept checks and do the shopping ourselves.”

Additionally, she said, because of the conditions it may be impossible for the officers to keep the drop-off site staffed during these hours.
