Young Photogs Honored at ‘Kid Kulture’ Opening

The Westport Arts Center tonight held an opening reception for its “Kid Kulture” exhibit featuring photographs by major 20th century photographers and 41 area children. Westport Animal Group Holding ‘Puppy Palooza’

Westport animal welfare organization TAILS will hold a “puppy palooza” adoption event on Saturday and Sunday for 100 homeless animals seeking permanent homes.

The event will take place at Best Friends, 528 Main Ave., Norwalk, and feature 80 family friendly puppies and young dogs and 25 kittens and cats. It will run both days from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.. 

“These animals are half way to winning the lottery of life – they’re the lucky ones – they just need a ‘forever home’ now,” said Westporter Dorrie Harris, TAILS president.

She said the pups were rescued from certain death by Colbert Veterinary Rescue, based in Colbert, Ga., where they were cared for, spayed/neutered and socialized.

Chili Tasting and Gifts at Christie’s Country Store

Westport’s Christie’s Country Store is hosting an unusual holiday event this weekend – a chili tasting and gift sale.

Clothing designer Renee Dumar (www.reneedumarr.com)  will be selling her accessories and Tracey Narang will be featuring her home goods. And there will be plenty of chili for tasting.

The hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday with Santa putting in an appearance on Sunday from noon to 2 p.m.

Christie’s Country store is at 161 Cross Highway.
