The Westport Center for Senior Activities will be closed on Saturday due to the storm. 

All activities and classes are canceled.

The Saturday Social is also canceled and will be rescheduled at a future date.

New Haven Line trains are experiencing up to 15 minute delays between New Haven and Stamford, due to a disabled train in the vicinity of Bridgeport, Metro-North said at 10 a.m. today.

The Westport Center for Senior Activities will be open today but there will be no activities, no congregate luncheon and no home delivered meals.

The staff will be in should there be a need for assistance.

Westport public schools are closed today due to the weather.

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for Westport and area until 6 a.m. Saturday.

The National Weather Service in Upton, N.Y. said in a morning advisory update that snow, heavy at times, will continue across western Fairfield
County through the morning hours. Light to occasionallymoderate snow can then be expected for the area through tonight.

In addition to the falling snow, wind gusts of up to 35 mph will result in near whiteout conditions at times across Long Island this morning, the advisory said. The winds will decrease late this morning.

Storm total snowfall of 7 to 12 inches across western Fairfield County and 4 to 8 inches across eastern Fairfield County can be expected, the advisory said.
