Winter Weather Advisory Extended

The National Weather Service in Upton, N.Y. has extended the winter weather advisory for Westport and area until 5 a.m. Friday.

Patchy freezing drizzle or drizzle early this evening will give way to a snow and sleet mix around mid-evening, then change to all snow around midnight, the advisory said.

The snow will taper off prior to sunrise Friday morning.

Expect an additional 1 to 2 inches of snow tonight for an event total of 2 to 5 inches across the New York City metropolitan area, including coastal Connecticut, the advisory said.
