Reminder for RTM District 5 Vacancy

Members of District 5 of the Westport Representative Town Meeting (RTM) reminded residents today that Friday is the application deadline for candidates to fill a vacancy in the district which includes most of the Greens Farms section.

The vacancy was caused by the retirement of eight-term representative John W. Booth, the RTM’s senior member. (See WestportNow Jan. 6, 2009)

Under the Town Charter, a successor will be appointed for the remainder of Booth’s term, which expires in November, by the three remaining RTM District 5 members: Barbara Levy, Richard Lowenstein, and John Suggs.

Any registered voter in District 5 who would like to apply for the vacancy should send a resume to Lowenstein at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or 372 Greens Farms Road, Westport. Because Westport’s RTM is non-partisan, no party affiliation is required.
