Two Escape Serious Injury in Weston Road Rollover

WestportNow.com Image
Wet road conditions contributed to an accident on Westport’s Weston Road north of the Merritt Parkway around 10 a.m. today. A Stratford driver and his female companion escaped serious injury when he lost control of his pickup truck, spun around and rolled over on the side of the road between Sipperley’s Hill Road and Lyons Plains Road. The driver said he applied the brakes when the car in front of him slowed down. The driver and passenger in the car promptly parked and went to the aid of the pickup’s occupants. The female passenger in the pickup truck was treated by Westport EMS personnel but declined hospital transport. The truck was towed from the scene. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for WestportNow.com

Westporter Judith Kealey (3rd r.) played the role of Lady Bracknell joining nine other actors in the opening night performance tonight of Oscar Wilde’s classic play “The Importance of Being Earnest” at Town Hall in the Westport Community Theatre’s 232nd major production. The play, which premiered in1895 in London, is set in England during the late Victorian era. Its humor derives in part from characters maintaining fictitious identities to escape unwelcome social obligations. The remaining performances are on weekends through Dec. 14.
