Westport’s Disconnect Connects in Weston Image
The Westport band Disconnect won first prize in Saturday night’s Battle of the Bands at the Norfield Parish Hall in Weston. All five band members are students at Bedford Middle School. The Battle of the Bands is the first charitable event for the recently formed Kids4Kids, a group designed to involve kids in planning and executing clever and engaging fundraising activities to benefit other local kids in need. Nine middle school bands competed to raise money for Family and Children’s Agency of Norwalk. All proceeds went to Family and Children’s after school programs. The evening was capped off with a spectacular performance by Weston High School’s band The Knockouts. Pictured (l-r) are: Alex Mapley, bass; Warren Schorr guitar and vocals; Ian Hubbell, drums; Santi Hervella, guitar and Blake Hoffman, guitar. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Contributed photo
