Power Outage Affects Hundreds, Including Playhouse

WestportNow.com Image
A power outage in Westport’s center today affected more than 600 Connecticut Light and Power Company customers, including the Westport Country Playhouse and the adjacent Dressing Room restaurant. The outage stretched from the Post Road East intersection of Imperial and Myrtle Avenues east to Playhouse Square, knocking out the traffic light at the intersection. The Playhouse delayed its 4 p.m. show of “The Turn of the Screw” and then went ahead using an emergency generator which provided only worklights for the show.
