Mary Flynn of Westport died July 24. She was 86.
The wife of the late James Flynn II was born in the Bronx to the late James and Rosanne McKelvey and was a longtime area resident.
She was a psychologist for many years for the Westport public school system. She was a devoted member of The First Church of Christian Science Westport as well as The Mother Church of Christian Science Boston.
She took great pride in being a practitioner of her faith, her healings and her volunteer work at the Mercy Learning Center.
She is survived by her children, Joseph Flynn, Rosanne Flynn, Mary “Bobbie” Flynn-Johnson and her husband John Johnson and James Flynn III; her grandchildren, Erin, Patrick, Sarah, Jimmy, Danny, Kaitlyn, Shannon, Dallas, Kalla and Thomas; her great-grandchildren, Jackson, Tripp and Jaylyn; her sister-in-law, Pat; and nieces and nephews, Scott, Jackie, Nicole and Jim. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas.
Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life reception on Saturday, Aug. 5 from noon to 3 p.m.
in the Folly Room at Delamar Southport.
