Emily N. Lemond, 87

Emily Catherine Neuens Lemond of Norwalk, a former longtime Westport resident of Westport, died July 13 at Norwalk Hospital. She was 87.

Born in Fredonia, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late Emil and Linda Eisentrout Neuens.She attended University of Wisconsin and began a nursing career in Chicago where she met her husband Louis F. Lemond.

After raising her four children, she continued nursing at Silver Hill Hospital for over 20 years. She was an active member of the Westport Woman’s Club and avid bridge player. She was a wonderful wife to Louis for 61 years and a loving mother to her children. She was a gourmet cook and loved travel to exploring new foods and cultures.

Survivors include a daughter Anne Taylor (Thomas); two sons, Louis (Janet) and Charles (Peggy); grandchildren, William, Robert and Giles Rekruciak (Joseph); great-grandson Logan Rekrucriak, and sister Helen Neuens Karl of Milwaukee. She was predeceased by her husband Louis and her son Paul. A private burial will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Chicago, at a later date.
