Bennett Saltus, 27

Bennett Saltus, a former Westport resident, died Aug. 3 in Hartford. She was 27.

She was born Feb. 16, 1990. She was a beautiful and free-spirited woman who lit up any room she entered. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her father, Duke Saltus, of Westport, and mother, Julie Sinclair of Portland Maine, as well as three brothers and a sister, Tucker Saltus, Samantha Killmeyer, Jack and Jed Saltus. She was predeceased by her brother Jake.

She is also survived by her partner, Derek Hohmann, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins.

There will be a celebration of her life on Saturday, Aug. 12 at the Dolby & Dorr Funeral Chapel, 76 State St., Gorham, Maine, followed by a gathering at the First Parish Congregational Church, 1 Church St., located just down the road from the funeral home. All are welcome to attend.
