A 31-year-old Westport woman turned herself in to police following results of a blood test that showed she had been driving under the influence, police said.
Her arrest stemmed from an investigation into a May 1 incident in which officers located a vehicle that had broken down on Hales Road in the area of Hales Court, police said.
An investigation revealed that the driver was Joyce Yard and evidence at the scene showed that alcohol and/or drugs impaired her, police said.
She was taken to police headquarters where she complained of medical issues and was transported to Norwalk Hospital, said Lt. Eric Woods.
As part of her processing, blood was drawn, a search warrant was applied for, and results showed she had a blood alcohol level of .20, he said.
A subsequent arrest warrant was applied for and Yard turned herself into police on Wednesday.
She was charged with driving under the influence and released on $2,500 bond for a court appearance on Wednesday, Aug. 31.
