The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for interior sections of southern Connecticut from Wednesday morning through Thursday morning, but the advisory does not include Westport and coastal Connecticut.
The advisory, which covers most of the rest of Connecticut, said to expect snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches.
It said a mix of rain and snow Wednesday morning will change to all snow by late Wednesday. The snow will continue into early Thursday morning before tapering off to snow showers.
Meanwhile, forecaster Jacob Meisel, a 2012 Staples graduate, tweeted: “A period of heavy snow continues to look likely even down to the coast Wednesday afternoon/evening. Significant accumulations possible.”
He added, “We have an extraordinarily complex forecast here, but confidence is much higher in large accumulating snow for all of region than before.
“Please prepare now for widespread travel disruptions all day Wednesday. Regardless of exact track, we expect major impacts across the area.”
