Eversouce reported just before midnight that 43 Westport customers still were without power, down from 445 earlier in the day.

Multiple roads were blocked by downed trees and/or power lines, according to police. As a result, all public schools closed for the day—something that has not occurred in this manner since Superstorm Sandy in 2012.

Police said trees or wires caused closures at 79 Coleytown Road, Weston Road at the town Line (reopened at 7 a.m.), 109 Greens Farms Road, 37 Prospect Road, Sasco Creek Road, 24 Sylvan Lane North, and Evergreen Avenue.

A tree fell on a house on Saugatuck Avenue, but caused no injuries or damage.

Earlier the road was blocked at 277 Saugatuck Ave. but was reopened in the early morning hours, police said.
