Westport Transit Holding Off on Shuttle Service

The Westport Transit District said today it is holding off on plans to provide bus shuttle service to Harlem Line trains while disruptions to New Haven Line service continue.

In a news release, Transit District Commissioner Jennifer Johnson said Westport is in active conversation with Norwalk Transit District, Westport’s shuttle service provider, “to assess the feasibility and demand for providing temporary shuttle service from Westport to alternative Metro North stations on the Harlem Line.”

But given recent updates on projections for restoring power to the New Haven line, “it is anticipated that Westport Transit District will not provide shuttle service to Harlem Line stations,” she said.

Any changes to this information will be announced through local media, Johnson said. Meanwhile, the regular service on all Westport Transit District routes remains in full effect.
