Westport Historical Society Opens New Exhibits on Sunday

The Westport Historical Society opens two new exhibits on Sunday curated by Howard Munce and Naiad Einsel: “The Sketch Class: A Westport Tradition” and “Art From The Heart.” There will be an opening reception from 3 to 5 p.m.  “The Sketch Class: A Westport Tradition” takes a look back at an event that takes place wherever a group of artists reside and work—not really a class but a gathering of artists and hopefuls who like to draw or paint from live models in costume or not. “Art From the Heart” features the art of Naiad and Walter Einsel who during their 47 years together created and exchanged unique gifts of art. The drawings, collages, sculptures and poems expressed their love and admiration for each other in the form of valentines and other anniversary missives. The exhibits run through April 30.
