Stephen Rubin, who has served on Westport’s Representative Town Meeting (RTM) since 1993, the legislative body’s current longest serving member, told fellow legislators tonight he has submitted his resignation. Rubin, 70, said he and his wife Toni, who have lived in Westport three decades, will be moving next month to Charleston, S.C. Rubin recently retired as a longtime employee of the town’s Parks and Recreation Department. He was active in many local organizations, including the Police Athletic League (PAL) and Al’s Angels. A successor to fill his District 7 seat will be chosen by the three remaining district members. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for WestportNow.com

You will be missed my friend!
All the best to you and Toni :)
What a loss for Westport, Al’s Angels and the morning coffee bull session.
All good luck with the move, Steve.
You and Toni will be missed in the concession stand at Staples. It won’t be the same without you. Wishing you both a great life in Charleston.
Best of luck to you and Toni and thanks for being great contributors to our town
You both will be missed!
