Staples Footballers Roll Over Ludlowe 38-0

Backup quarterback Keith Gelman fumbled three times in the first half but great defense helped drive the Staples High School varsity football team to a 38-0 win tonight over Fairfield’s Ludlowe High School at Fairfield.

The victory improved the Wreckers to 7-0 on the season while Ludlow slipped to 3-4.

Gelman was starting in place of the injured Brandon Pacilio. “In the beginning of the game, he needed to settle down and he did,” said Staples coach Marce Petroccio.

Staples meets Wilton next Saturday, Nov. 7 at home, leaving only two games after that—the following Saturday in Trumbull and then Thanksgiving, Nov. 26 at home against perennial rival Greenwich High School.
