After a second loss to Wilton, the Staples field hockey team today won 2-0 in a home game against Trumbull.

The first Wrecker score occurred within the first three minutes—an assisted goal by junior Blake Orban to senior tri-captain Katie Baxter. For the remainder of the first half, Staples was very active offensively and defensively.
Staples scored in the second half with an assist by freshman Brooke Donovan to junior Libby Meyers.
Staples is now 5-2 on the season, including an undefeated home record with opponents failing to score or to tie. The next home game is Monday at 3 p.m. against Fairfield Ludlowe at Ginny Parker field.
