Sprucing Up the Transfer Station

WestportNow.com Image
Pubic Works Department personnel today plant trees and shrubs along the road-facing fence at the Sherwood Island Connector transfer station as part of a remediation and site improvement project under the direction of Public Works official Scott Sullivan. Tree Warden Bruce Lindsay, horticultural advisor for the project, said tree planting along the 160 linear feet fencing that faces the connector and planting behind the fence will replace decayed foliage and serve as a privacy buffer from passing traffic.
