After months of work, the Special Education Task Force is ready to make a report to the Westport Board of Education at a June meeting.
Schools Superintendent Elliott Landon said the task force will report to the school board during its June 11 meeting.
The item had been on the board’s agenda for May 21, but it was pulled. Landon said it was because the report was not finalized.
The report, he said, will have recommendations and suggestions to improve the system.
The parents and staff on the task force worked together on the report and agree on the recommendations, he said.
If there are any plans in the report that have financial implications, Landon said, they will have to be considered as the board moves through its budget deliberations in the winter.
There are some items in the report, he said, that have already been accomplished because they had no cost.
Landon would not give specifics on what is in the report, which has yet to be released to the public.
