Sleet, Snow Cause Slippery Road Conditions

UPDATE Westport police reported slippery road conditions as a result of today’s storm, especially in the northern parts of Westport.

A three-car accident at Cross Highway and Punch Bowl Drive closed down the roadway at about 1 p.m. and police asked motorists to avoid the area. It was reopened at 1:45 p.m.

The storm brought mostly rain through the morning but snow began sticking at mid-day, causing slippery conditions.

Westport was under a Winter Weather Advisory until 1 a.m. Thursday with the National Weather Service predicting the storm would dump 1 to 5 inches of snow on the southern Connecticut coastline.
