Sisters Tell Westporters Their Tales of Hate

WestportNow.com Image
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) of Connecticut tonight hosted a discussion at the Westport Country Playhouse with Grace (c) and Megan Phelps-Roper, former members of the hate-filled Westboro Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas. Deborah Lauter (l), the ADL’s national director of civil rights, moderated the discussion. The women, granddaughters of the church’s founder, Fred Phelps, described their journey from hate mongering to now acting as allies in the fight against hate. They will address students at Staples High School on Tuesday. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Jaime Bairaktaris for WestportNow.com
