Pianist Orin Grossman today kicked off a series of five cultural events at the Westport Center for Senior Services with a lecture and concert about George and Ira Gershwin. Grossman, former academic vice president at Fairfield University, received his bachelor’s degree from Harvard College and a master’s degree and doctorate in music history from Yale University. AT&T is sponsoring the cultural series presented by the Friends of the Westport Center for Senior Activities. The next four events will be on Fridays starting at 1:30 p.m. with the Oct. 4 presentation by former Staple teacher Gerry Kuroghlian who will present an introduction to film literacy through examples from the film “Citizen Kane.” (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Phyllis Groner for WestportNow.com
