Following a 10-month investigation, Westport Police arrested a Bridgeport man this week in connection with a July 2014 burglary of a residence where vast amounts of jewelry were taken, police said today.
Edward Santos, 24, was arrested on a warrant in Norwalk Superior Court Monday and charged with first-degree larceny and first-degree conspiracy to commit larceny, Capt. Samuel Arciola said.
According to Arciola, officers responded to a report of a burglary and larceny at a Riverfield Drive home on July 7.
“The follow up investigation by the Detective Bureau identified the suspect, Edward Santos, as selling the stolen jewelry from the burglary to a pawn shop,” Arciola said.
Arciola said on April 8 Bridgeport resident Raisa Santos, 22, was also arrested for the same crime.
He said that Edward Santos was processed in court following his arrest on Monday and that he was issued a new court date of Thursday, April 30.
