Those wishing to participate are asked to reserve a spot online and take their tree to the end of their driveway the night before. The trees will be taken away and turned into mulch, an announcement said.
The requested $15 donation will go toward the troop’s character-building activities, such as food drives, community service projects, and backpacking trips.
Reservations are being accepted at www.troop39scouts.com/treepickup.htm. Once a reservation is made, residents are asked to tape their donation – cash or check made out to Boy Scout Troop 39 – to their front door and have the tree ready by 6:30 a.m.
The announcement said reservations are limited and those interested are urged to sign up as soon as possible.
