Westport Boy Scout Troop 39 has scheduled its sixth annual Christmas tree pick up from the end of town driveways for Saturday, Jan. 9, Scout leaders announced.
Once picked up, the spent evergreens will be recycled into mulch.
Families can reserve a spot online by visiting http://www.troopmasterweb.com/troop39westport and take their tree to the end of their driveway the night before.
A $20 donation is suggested. Funds go to the troop’s food drives, community service projects and backpacking trips.
“Sign up, tape your donation in cash or check made out to Boy Scout Troop 39 to your front door and have your tree down at the end of your driveway no later than 6:30 a.m. on Jan. 9,” said Jenn Blum, Scout parent.
