Lauren F. Karpf has been selected as the new District 7 Representative Town Meeting (RTM) member, Moderator Eileen Lavigne Flug announced today.
Chosen by the three other District 7 representatives from nine applicants, she will fill out the remaining term of Stephen Rubin, who announced his resignation in September because he was leaving Westport. Rubin, 70, had served since 1993. (See WestportNow Sept. 2, 1014)
Karpf, 39, is an attorney, currently serving as a volunteer mediator with Connecticut’s Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, Flug said.
She previously served as an attorney with the New York City Department of Education and as a legal intern in the Office of the Mayor of New York City, as well as being an associate at a major New York City law firm. She and her husband Adam purchased a home here two years ago. They have two children, a 3-year-old son and a 10-month-old daughter.
