Staples High School junior Jacquelyn Sussman today was awarded first place by the Westport Sunrise Rotary Club for her presentation in the Rotary Club’s annual “4-way” speech contest. The participants’ presentations required the inclusion of the Rotary “4-Way Test” of ethical behavior: 1) Is it the truth? 2) Is it fair to all concerned? 3) Will it build good will and better friendships? 4) Will it be beneficial to all concerned? Sussman competed with fellow junior classmates Claire Dinshaw and Tia Pogue who were runner-ups. Pictured (l-r) are Kelly Shamas, Staples faculty advisor for the contest, Dinshaw, Pogue, Sussman, and Roy Fuchs, Rotary organizer of the contest. The event took place at the Westport Inn, the weekly club meeting venue. (CLICK TO ENLARGE) Dave Matlow for WestportNow.com
